Culture Week March 2007
by Zach Taylor | Student Activities | March 19th, 2007Last week CCEL organized a Culture week: every day, from Tuesday to Friday, different groups of countries prepared traditional food, costumes and pictures to share with all the other students in the school.
Tuesday was Japan, Taiwan and Thailand’s day: we had the chance to learn a lot more about all these cultures. The students from those countries cooked Chirashi-sushi and Okonomiyaki, some girls wore kimonos and our Japanese advisor Shumpei played traditional Japanese music with the saxophone.

Chinese New Year

“Sunday morning in Vancouver we celebrated the beginning of the Chinese new year, the Lunar New Year; with a great parade where you can see dragons, dance teams and different cultural groups, community organizations and marching bands. CCEL students went together to this event and, after the parade, we had a Chinese dinner and went for a short walk in Stanley Park.” Alessia Marioncini, Italy
